Back to Work for Terps

It is back to work week for both basketball and football at College Park.  The football team had a bye last week.  With a 5-3 record, football hosts Syracuse (4-4) with a chance to become bowl eligible.  Kickoff is at 3:30p on Saturday.

Basketball kicks off the season with a trip to Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn to face the UConn Huskies.  This is set for 6:30p (thanks ESPN) on Friday.  UConn has a veteran backcourt and a freshman 7 foot sensation. It will be a tough matchup for the Terps, especially in with the guards.

Dez Wells will get the start at point guard with Seth Allen out.  I look for Roddy Peters (District Heights, MD) or Varun Ram (Clarksville, MD) to get minutes at lead guard.

For football, the offensive line took a hit when former Good Counsel star and Terps offensive left tackle sophomore Mike Madaras quite the team last week.  He will be replaced by true freshman Moise Larose (#72) from Odenton, MD and Wilde Lake High School.

Syracuse has an active defense that shout our Wake last week (13-0) and will face a (hopefully) rejuvenated CJ Brown.

Here is the video from Byrd on Tuesday
