News and Notes 1/31/2009

This weekends edition of News and Notes features Terp Basketball, Football and the NFL

Terp Basketball

For all of the noise being made, we are 2 wins and 4 loses in the ACC. If we are going to “right the ship”, we can get started tonight. Miami visits at 8p.

On the possible good news department, the trouble in TerpTown has opened the door for at least one recruit who wants to be a program savior. Lance Stephenson is visiting tonight. The #9 ranked player in the 2009 class would be a huge get. His is from Brooklyn and is uncommitted as far as college choice.

If he comes to Maryland, it looks like he would have an immediate impact.

Terp Football

Signing day is Wednesday. The Terps still have the 24th rated class. We are looking at the 77th and 99th players at the least (Travis Hawkins and Pete White). I have hope that we will also get the DeMatha quarterback (Tom Chroninger) who would be a saftey and qb prospect.

I look forward to being at the recruiting day reception at Maryland on Wednesday. Look for stories and photos on Thursday.

NFL

Our crackerjack staff at FreedomBlitz are going for the Cardinals over the Steelers.
