Terps Fall Short at MSU 69-55

Maryland fell to Michigan State Monday 69-55. The Spartans lead by Cassius Winston and Kenny Goins who both put up 14 points.

Michigan State jumped out of the gate early to a 18-6 lead before Maryland caught up to tie the score at 20-20. The Spartans then finished the half as they started it with the next 11 to give them a 31-20 lead at the half.

The Terps lead by freshman Arron Wiggins who added a career-high 15 points to the teams’ effort was punished in rebounding losing in the category by 13. The few bright spots came for Wiggins who hit five threes and Bruno Fernando who had yet another double-double.

The Terps are set to take on Illinois on Saturday at MSG in New York City . The Fighting Illi enter the game at 5-13 (1-6).
