It was fun while it lasted – On the Redskins

I thought the game was winnable.  Redskins held the lead into the 4th quarter.  The Seahawks really turned it up late in the game.  Washington (the real Washington) had no answer in the game’s final minutes.

My answer to the “Big Question” – I thought RGIII was coming out of the game during or immediately after the 2nd drive of the game when it looked as though he hurt his knee.

Further, I do think the Redskins win if Cousins plays 3 quarters of the game and has a 14-3 lead when he gets in.

Beyond the football – We had a great time at the game.  I lived long enough to take my kids (the Littles) to a Redskins home playoff game.  The crowd was fantastic, during the first few drives it was hard to hear the person two seats away.

I was asked if I thought the Redskins “sweetened” the noise.  I do not think that team played amplified crowd noise through the speakers, it was just that loud at FedEx.

A long time ago, I was a die-hard Redskin fan.  Most of my die-hard feelings have moved over to the Terps and there is a little bit left for the Washington Capitals.  Even so, it was exciting to be there.  It made me nostalgic for when the Redskins were my team and I lived and died with Sonny Jurgenson, Billy Kilmer and the rest of George Allen’s Over the Hill Gang.

It was fun while it lasted.  A seven game run to win the NFC East.  Hail to the Redskins.

  1. Standing ovation for a season well played….RGIII makes it fun…it was sad to see him go down…but he lead his team with courage….they'll be back!
