There Goes that Happy Feeling

How many games can you lose on the last shot?  It has gotten to the point where you wait to see how our Terps are going to lose the game.

Not a good feeling.

Just a few baskets away – one more basket versus UConn, Syracuse, Clemson and Duke.  Now add Florida State to the list.

I know, “if the ball does not go in for your team – you are losers.”  Here is another one, “What do you call teams that keep losing by one basket?  Losers”  Haha Ha

I don’t think the Terps basketball team is a bunch of losers.  The team, for the last month, is getting better.  The passing is better, fewer idiotic plays and much better defense.  But jeez, how many games can you lose by one shot?

I am not saying the team is good.  I am saying that we never really got over the hump.  We are, in team development, about where I thought the team would be in January.  We are 60 days behind schedule if this was a project.

I am saying we are what our record is:  17-15.  It could have been much better.

I am not sure there is going to be another game this season.  If not, that is fine with me.

Jordan wrote and asked, “No NIT?” and I said “No”.  Here is why, there are 4 ACC teams targeting the NIT.  I don’t think the NCAA (who runs the NIT) will put in 4 teams.  So if FSU loses tomorrow to UVA, they would be the 3rd of the ACC teams.  That probably knocks out the Terps.

When practice starts up in the fall, we will be looking at a team with seniors and well-respected freshman.  A team that one would hope comes together and plays well much earlier in the 2014 – 2015 season.
