Arresting Developments

The post for today was supposed to be “The Daily Double”.  About getting ready for both a Terps and Redskins home game with the kids.

Then I found out that two Maryland Football players got themselves suspended last night.

Ronnie Tyler, #4 in your program, a senior wide receiver got into a fight in front of the 7-11 (next to China Cafe) in College Park near Route 1.  He has a court date on November 1st.

Quintin McRee was in a bar on Route 1.  Football team rules say no to Route 1.  So this is just a broken rule.  Probably a one game suspension.

Well, there go two of the starting wide receivers.

I can see how a college kid may have had trouble with those rules.  But you are not just a college kid.  As a member of a team, you just let down all of your teammates.  Never mind the fans or all the work you put in to get where your are, a starting wide receiver on an up and coming team.

You just can’t afford to break the rules and/or get into fights.  One can be fairly sure that if you do, Randy Edsall will throw you off the team.

The game will go on, there are some fairly good backups who will get their chance on Saturday at 12p in College Park and on ESPNU verse West Virginia.

On Sunday, the Cardinals visit the Redskins at 1p.  This is the big football weekend for me and the Littles.  The tailgate starts at 9a on Saturday and on Sunday.  A daily double and maybe the only one of the year.

Next week I will let you know how it went.
