Wow, that was a tough game on Saturday. You could blame the turnovers, 3 fumbles and an interception. One could look to not going for it on 4th and 2 at the MTSU 25 with two minutes to go. You could even go as far as to yell, “The defense Sucks.”
Others say it is time for the Fridge to get unplugged. And while you are at it, take the offensive and defensive coordinators with you.
If you want to find the source of the issues, I think you need to look at the recruiting 3 and 4 years ago. That is a period in which we did not recruit the right kids. Most of, if not all of, the recruits from that period are not with the team now.
That dry spell is costing the team big time now. The last two recruiting classes are highly ranked and are getting on the field right now. The downside is, we are playing real freshmen and red-shirt freshmen. These guys are getting into their first college action.
Maybe time has passed Ralph by. It could be time for head coach in waiting, current offensive coordinator James Franklin to take over. If that does happen, the team is stocked with nationally recognized talent.
