Nobody Home on the Lady Terps

I am watching the NCAA Elite 8 as Louisville plays Maryland. One can not help but notice that there is no one there. If this game was at Maryland, you would get 15,000. The women’s game just is not a draw. The NCAA has to look into putting the games closer to active teams.

It is a hard game to watch. More airballs than a high school boys game. More contact than a college hockey game. Less artistry than a motel ballroom art show. A hard game to watch.

The “gang of three” (Jor, Mo and I) are still watching because it is a Terps game. This is not the best Lady’s Terps game we have seen. Mason is getting frustrated because it is a choppy game and we are losing. Jordan’s interest is evaporating as he has just reached level 50 on his Pokemon Platinum game.

So as the Turtles get down by 14, I start writing. Marissa Coleman and Kristi Toliver have had fantastic careers. 7:01 to go. I think we still have a shot. Now it is just Jor and I. We are hanging in until the end.

Overall, it is not a bad spring to be a Terp. The Men made it to the tourney and got a win. The lax team is in the top ten and the Lady Terps at least got to the Elite Eight. Not bad.
