Spring is Here – On the Terps

I still have a sports hangover from men’s basketball season. There is a good deal of activity going on in Terpland. I hope to dive back in this weekend.

Here is the short list:

Lacrosse – Top Ten Terps @ #1 UVA. This one is on ESPN2 at 12p on Saturday. The Terps have made a lot of adjustments with new players this season. It looks to be coming together at the right time. Does coach Cottle have the Turtles playing at a level to beat #1?

Women’s Hoops – Sweet 16 against Purdue is next. These girls can play. Although it appears that the Lady Terps will be a long-term powerhouse, you never know. My suggestion is that you catch’em now and get on the bandwagon to the Final Four.

Game is Saturday @ 2:30p at the RBC Center in Raleigh.

Spring Football – Since the Terps can only use players who are enrolled and have eligibility left, the team is a little short handed in a few spots. Most of the 25 man freshman class is still in high school, a few have enrolled early. There were a lot of seniors for the 2008 campaign, so they are not on the field this spring.

Only two quarterbacks, fewer o-line then one would like and only a handful of linebackers are the weak point. Wujiack is out with an injury. A lot of new faces will get a long look in the spring.

The spring game is on April 25th.
