A quick update of the possibilities that those in the know are throwing about. There are two major prospects that could be Terps soon. One is a local prospect by the name of McKnight. A 6-9 power forward type who is waiting for a Terps offer. It is said that if the Terps offer, he will accept.
The second is Greg Echenique. If my memory serves correctly, this is a 6-10 center who is from Venezuela. He chose Rutgers over the Terps. He wants out of New Jersey now. He was injured and is coming off of surgery. Greg could enroll for spring semester and be eligible in fall 2010.
Either of these would fill the void left by the injury to Jerome Burney and the lack of production / injury to Goins.
In my opinion Echenique would be a major addition. He would play center and give us the flexibility that we had with Baxter and Sleepy Randall. Having to legit centers would be a plus.
