College Park, MD – I had the opportunity to visit the football team house this evening. The inside of the Gossett team house is lined with Terp football showcases as you can see in the photo to the right.
Ralph Freidgen hosted a small group of football boosters to hear ideas about how to make game day better. Debbie Yow, James Franklin and Terrapin Club Director Craig Enloe joined 25 top fans of the football team in the auditorium.
The topics discussed are not to be reported verbatim. Overall, the topics ranged from game day music to how to get the fans involved on a donor level. I think that it is fantastic that the university asks the fans what they like and don’t like. It is a great privilege to see how and who makes the decisions and why they are made. I look forward to being part of the group as the years go by.
The next big public event is the Spring Football Game on April 25th. The weekend of the 25/26 is also the NFL draft. On the left is one of the displays in the team house. This one highlights Terps in the pros. The jerseys on display are Stephon Heyer (offensive tackle, Washington Redskins) and Shawn Merriman (defensive rush end, San Diego Chargers).
