When the Maryland Men’s basketball was announced as the 10 seed in the West Region, the screen should have faded to black. Then, a heartbeat of two later, the credits should have started to roll.
You see, the movie for 2008/2009 had its ending. And the ending was perfect. Embattled and under-manned the guys stayed together. The fearless leader fought off the invaders and naysayers. He kept his job and proved his mettle once again. In fact, by getting to the NCAA tournament, the tough but secretly lovable coach had the 4th year of the contract guaranteed .
So the actual tournament is the sequel. You know sequels are usually not as good as the first run. We hope that we win on Thursday. But a win is not necessary to make this a good season.
