On the Redskins – when your team doesn’t look as good as you thought it would, there isn’t that much positive to say. The Redskins do not look as good as anyone thought that they would in 2013.
Stunningly bad is a good way to put it. You can be mad at the coaches or you be mad at the players. Maybe it is just the quarterback, but he doesn’t play defense (and barely plays offense anymore). Do you think maybe the Redskins believed they were good and might not really be prepared to play the game? In this league, you are what your record says you are.
For RG III, it is hard to keep your focus when your are rehabbing a knee injury, getting married, filming a documentary about how great you are and participating in your autobiography.
Maybe the team was not as terrific as they looked during the last stages of the 2012 campaign. It’s possible the team was a little bit lucky, playing to a three and six record; and then winning the last 7 games to take the NFC East crown.
The horror show on the field is certainly not up to the standards of last season. Last year the team did not stop playing until the game was over, in 2013 we have already experienced two blowouts. One wonders how hard the Redskins are playing.
The defense can’t tackle and can’t pass defend. The offense can’t score in the first half. I only had the Redskins at 9-7, this start is not helping. The Lions game becomes a must win. The Lions have a fairly good offense. This spells trouble.
In picking the 9 wins, beating the Eagles (a loss) and the Lions (on Sunday) were two of the 9 wins. At this point, I would be mildly surprised to see the Redskins win on Sunday. By the way, I don’t think the Lions have ever won in Washington.
