It is hours away from game time. The NCAA tournament has become a national holiday. In fact, this weekend is the holiday season. The most watched event, as it unfolds over a month.
It is hours away from game time. The Terps are sequestered away in a Marriott in Kansas City. Although they are in the West Region of the tournament, they play in Missouri this weekend. If they are good and lucky enough to advance, next weeks games are in Glendale, Arizona.
It is hours away from game time. Can you imagine how it must feel to be a Terp and have fought so hard to get here. To be in the tournament. Although the Terps have been to the “Big Dance” two out of the last three years, it is still a huge acomplishment. The Terps are known for being giant killers. Now that they have made it this far, can they fight through California and defeat Memphis?
It is hours away from game time. At 2:55p or so Eastern time on Thursday, the Terps will get started against the Cal Bears. This is the second game from Kansas City. We follow the Memphis v Cal State Northridge game. Usually the Terps will be in the locker room by half-time of the first game. Maryland, should they advance to the round of 16, will be the 18th 10 seed to have that honor since the tournament expanded to 64/65 teams.
In a few hours, the only team that has a losing conference record in the 16 teams that make up the West region takes the court. No team put more into getting here or climbed a steeper mountain this season than our Terps. If this is the last time this season, so be it. Go Terps!
