Caps Throw a Party

Saturday night at Verizon Center ended up like New Years Eve. What an ending for a game that had some folks pick-up their belongings and head to the exits when the home team was down 4 – 1.

When I told the littles (11 and 8) that I had never been to an overtime playoff win. I think that is because the Capitals have lost the last 6 home overtime playoff games.

Oh sure there are problems with this team. I like Varlamov better in the playoffs than Theodore. Mike Green looks lost on defense and we still have way too many turnovers.

On the bright side, John Carlsson looks like a star at defense. The Capitals started hitting and flying around the ice. It looks as though a real playoff series might breakout yet.

It was fun before the game, half of the game was awful and the rest was memorable. Great hockey? No. Great fun, absolutely!
