Saturday was great. Spirits are up. Duke is next.
On Saturday, we stayed as long as we could. They were sweeping up when we walked out of Comcast Center. There is a feeling of, “We can’t wait to go back”. 9p on Wednesday the rubber meets the road.
Duke is still an evolving team. They are playing more guys and adjusting minutes. The Devils appear faster than before and we all know how much trouble we had with the Duke defense a few weeks ago. Look at their new freshman starter at pg, Elliott Williams from Memphis. At 6′ 4″ and 180 lbs he is cat quick and really jump.
We don’t need this win as much, with the Carolina game in hand, but it sure would be nice. We still need to beat NC St. and Virginia.
I made it through Saturday’s column without mentioning Lance Stephenson (a.k.a. Born Ready). A win over the Dukies would seem to push us into the clear lead for this needed prospect.
Do we think that Greivis will have another triple-double or Cliff will shoot lights out? Probably not. Maybe Jin Soo will re-emerge or Adrian Bowie will get back in stride. Hopefully the Terps will have a different star every night for the rest of the year.
In the Polls – The Terps are ranked 52 in the latest poll. That is two spots ahead of BC. See the entire poll at http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/polls/rpi/index1.
We need to move up a few spots to get into the NCAA tounament. Overall it will take 3 more wins at the least.
Gary Watch – I guess he is out of the hot water for now.
