Looking forward to football. I can not imagine that it will be worse than last year. Of course I have to promise you that I have been going to these games for too long to give up. This is season 26 in the stands for me. I may have missed 5 home games over those 26 years.
I think that the Terps have a good chance against Navy. The defense looks much improved over last year. I have more questions about the offense. O-Line is very young. There are Terp offensive linemen all over the NFL, but we have not had a unit play well together in years.
Overall, I am looking for 6 to 7 wins. Many have said that Ralph should be gone. I am not so sure, but he does come across as much older over the past few seasons. I think Offensive Coordinator and Head Coach in Waiting – James Franklin is a great recruiter and looks like a wise choice to replace Ralph when he does step down.
With James in charge of the recruiting, we have started to stockpile speed and talent at the skill positions. For example, we have 5 decent quarterbacks. A few years ago we had 1 with no real backup. Things are changing, I just don’t know if it is fast enough.
Due to some recruiting mistakes (OK, a lot of mistakes) 3 and 4 years ago, we have a very young team. Under the starters, almost all are sophomores and redshirt freshmen. If we get it rolling, we could be on the upswing for years.
Because of momentum and a new athletic director coming in to Maryland, this is the pivotal year. Another bad one and the entire staff could be gone. 6 or 7 wins and a bowl means a world of difference in TerpLand.
26 Seasons – Wow! that is impressive. I am looking foward to football too. Looking foward to a home game and tailgating at lot 1.
Anyone going to the Navy game?
Have fun. Go terps!
We have about 15 or so folks going to the Navy v Terps game on Monday. Should be a great in-state rivalry. By the way, who wrote the anonymous comment?
