Maryland’s football team is in for a tough game against Clemson. Maryland has a 5-2 record, but the team that won the 5 games is mostly on the sidelines with injuries.
The weekly press conferences are getting to be drab. The energy that was with the program a few weeks ago has dissipated. Watching Randy Edsall is a bit like watching someone in the witness protection program.
He is really saying nothing in the interviews.
On the other hand, I am not sure what there is to say. Although it might be pointless to outsiders, for those watching the football program closely, I would like to hear something to the effect of, “I really thought we were ready. I liked the fight of our guys (or in the case of last week, “we got pushed around a bit at the start”). We have a lot of injuries, but we have fire! We are going to get the next game!!”.
Just a little rah-rah would do it for me.
Here is the weekly press conference reel, including interviews with CJ Brown, Levern Jacobs (starting wide receiver #8) and Edsall audio. About 8 minutes in total.
