On Basketball

Maryland – Virginia Tech visits Comcast Center on Saturday @ 4p. Both teams need to win. This has been a very close series looking at the game scores. Va Tech has won far too many of the recent games between the two schools.

Tech has a player, A.D. Vassallo, who is a combo forward/guard. He is the one on that team above all others that I enjoy watching play. The sweet shooting 6′ 7″ Puerto Rican has all the shots. 3-ball, pull-up, either hand lane fade away; the whole repitoire.

You have to look for more Cliff Tucker tomorrow. He and Adrian Bowie are the only two that can really get to the basket. Also Dino Gregory has established himself as a guy who is going to get at least 18 minutes a game.

Virgina Tech would prefer a game in the 50’s, while the Terps want a fast game at least in the 70’s.

Born Ready – our Lance Stephenson update for today centers on the immense opportunity for UnderArmor with Lance. UA needs a poster child for its push into basketball. Who better than Lance?

The number 1 recruit at the flagship Under Armor school. What a great match. I am sure that if Lance does well in TerpLand, the sky is the limit. Born Ready is set to be UA’s Michael Jordan. If not MJ, at least LeBron.

NBA – It is All-Star weekend. Michael Wilbon calls it “black thanksgiving”.

I don’t write much about the Association. Just not interested until April. It is still hard to believe that the all-star game is only shown on TNT. How is this not on network tv?
