Did Football Season Just End?! on the Terps

Its just a feeling, but we had to have that game.  Oh it was close, had a chance down the stretch, and could not get it done.  34-32 losers on the road at Indiana.

Mistakes abounded early for the Terps.  Probably gave them 17 points or so.  Kasim got hurt.  And then the Maryland team rallied and came back to take the lead in the final minutes.

After all that happened, and a lot has happened in College Park in 2018, the team rallied.  Jayshaun Jones made a big-time move after a pass from Piggy to go up 32-31.   We were minutes away from being bowl eligible.

It reminded me of a game under Vanderlinden against UVA when LaMont Jordan had the 306 yards.  Maryland took a late lead and then gave up a season ending touchdown.  Terps lost 35-31.  No bowl.  LaMont had the greatest game I have seen in person.  Interesting that Anthony McFarland gained the season frosh yardage mark and single game mark in this nail-biter.  Both records belonged to LaMont.

Of course lightening would not strike twice.  Maryland would find a way to hold on.  Nope.  OK then, Piggy would make a name for himself today and lead the march down the field as the clock expired.  All we needed was the perfect freshman kicker to make one more field goal.  Whoops, that did not occur.  Piggy fumbled near mid field.  The Hoosiers recovered and the season started to slip away.

Maryland falls to 5-5.  All we have to do is beat either (a) Ohio State or (b) win at Happy Valley.  You would almost have to believe in miracles to think that Maryland could beat a top of the division team.  But  if you think back to 1990, all Maryland had to do was beat #10 UVa to become bowl eligible.  And Maryland came through.  Of course lightening could not strike twice…
