Friday’s Game Notes

Visitor Notes – Rutgers is looking to play two quarterbacks. The current starter is Tom Savage, a true freshman. He was knocked out during last week’s game vs. FIU, but claims are he is cleared to play. He took over the starting job for the 2nd game of the year (Sept 12). The backup is Jabu Lovelace (5th yr senior), who is more of a running quarterback.

#11 Domenic Natale started the season for the Scarlet Knights. He is also a 5th year senior. Rutgers lost big to Cincinnati, beat Howard and beat FIU 23-15. All of these were at Rutgers.

Rutgers last game notes – Sophomore running back Joe Martinek (Hopatcong, N.J.) rushed for 121 yards on 23 carries and senior wide receiver Tim Brown (Miami, Fla.) caught four passes for 131 yards to help Rutgers (2-1) to a 23-15 win over FIU (0-2).

The game is on ESPN360 at 3:30p.

Terps Notes -Offensive Coordinator James Franklin echoed so of my own thoughts yesterday. He said that if the Terps did not turn the ball over 4 times last week, they would have scored 40+ points.

40+ points would have easily won the MTSU game. The 4 touchdowns and the field goal that was made, plus the one missed and one blocked are seven possessions. Add in the 4 turnovers and that accounts for 11 touches for the offense without a punt.

For those playing at home, DaRel Scott fumbled twice, one interception that hit Meggett in the hands and a fumble by Jamar Robinson.

On the injury front, we could have both Jamari McCullough and Bruce Campbell for the game. Both have been upgraded to probable.
