Home Basketball Season Comes to an End

All the pomp and circumstance was there for Senior night at Comcast Center. And a big-time opponent in UNC. The inconsistent Terps did not really live up to the night. It was a day of the blizzard that never was and (for once) non-existent Beltway traffic.

The cold rain that fell outside of the arena threw a wet blanket on the Terps hopes of a NCAA Tournament berth. After watching the Terps all year, even hitting the road for the GT game last week, the inconsistent play was not a surprise. Maryland has some serious dead spots when the offense falters and then the defense loses energy. For a period in last night’s game, Maryland got outscored 20-4 in the middle of the game.

It was the last regular season game in Comcast for Logan Aronhalt and James Padgett. It probably was the last for Alex Len as well. The talent is in College Park to win, the attitude and energy level is lacking.

It was fun to be there, here is the first highlight reel, from the player intros to the opening tip.  Below is the postgame comments and the reel of the timeouts.  There is one instant classic time out, where the student section is covered in two giant Maryland flags. It is a must see.
