Well it is almost time for the 2nd game of the year. The field is covered and the players seem ready. For those that don’t really follow college football, James Madison is a pretty good team. The Dukes went to the DII Final Four last year. Right now, they are ranked #6 in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
On background, division I football is now the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). Division II is the FCS.
Ralph held a lunch on Friday and spoke to the fans for a few minutes. It was a very positive talk and Coach Freidgen answered questions from the 200 or so folks who attended.
I asked him about the offensive line depth and others asked about the progress of the freshmen. Coach was very open about the progress of the team and the line.
I think that it is great that the Terps still have these open houses for the fans. The sponsor of today’s lunch was Buffalo Wild Wings and it was setup by the Maryland Gridiron Network.
