That is a good Clemson basketball team Maryland played tonight. Not the same bunch that usually wins 15 in a row and then loses 8 of the next 10. Clemson has a RPI of 10 and is ranked 13th in America. The Terps missed too many layups and Clemson made a few threes. Suddenly a close game opened up to 16 points. Maryland made a push to get it closer and then the wheels fell off.
Jin Soo played 30 seconds when the game was in the balance. He looked totally overmatched. Jerome Burney got a good 5 minutes. Welcome back from the broken foot. Braxton Dupree was nailed to the bench again. Adrian Bowie has not been the same since he got sick a week or so ago.
Overall, Cliff Tucker looks like he should be on the floor for 20 minutes a game. Vasquez seems to be getting slower every game. Eric Hayes was a non-factor on the road again.
Milborne, Mosley and Neal had the same, hard working games as usual. Mosley could not get any room inside and missed a key layup. But he played tough defense, rebounded and had great energy. I am not sure how he was the second leading scorer in Maryland high school history. He does not seem to remember how to shoot.
Milborne looks to be a star in the making. If he got some run as the small forward, the sky is the limit. Right now, he is the power forward for the rest of the year. Next year, who knows. Dave Neal puts it all out every night. Enough said.
Gary had a good plan, but you have to make your shots. Especially when they are point blank layups. On to beating Carolina and Duke. Then at NC State, Wake at home and at Virginia. We need to get one of UNC, Duke and or Wake games. And beat State and UVA. That would put the Terps at 8 and 8 in the ACC.
