Coronation Day in America

“Welcome to America! I know this isn’t what you saw as our future – but just look at what is happening – it’s fascinating!” – Hilarie Viener, President HSV1 Consulting – NYC 1/20/2009

Hilarie, thanks for the email.

For those that do not know, I am a little right of center on the political meter. This is a great day for America. It always is a great day as we once again witness the glory of the country. The transfer of power is hopeful, joyous and solemn day.

The largest crowd since LBJ was inaugurated filled the Mall downtown. A hopeful, energetic crowd that has come from far and wide. To them, it is “morning in America”. A time to start fresh that proves that ‘anything is possible in America’.

A historic day in America as the first dark skinned President of the United States takes the oath of office. An era in the political life of the country is ending and a new one may be beginning.

The day that a president comes to office is a day that many Americans remember. It is certainly a day to celebrate the nation. Full of powerful military, symbolism and God given righteousness, this is spectacular sight. Washington’s alabaster architecture shines as it appears the second coming of Rome on television.

Welcome to America, who knows what will happen next.

*The largest inauguration crowd is believed by the National Park Service to be 1.2 million people for the swearing-in of President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965

  1. To be true to myself, I pray for the man to succeed. To be honest with myself, I fully expect today to be the beginning of economic disaster at best, the downfall of the U.S. at worst. I keep having flashbacks to world history and 1930’s Europe. Get power, eliminate opposition, proceed with your agenda.
